Bartosz Cajler
Violinist and pedagogue, laureate of many national and international competitions. He serves as a Lecturer at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and the School of Music and Opera at Mälardalen University in Västerås. In addition to his teaching roles, Bartosz is the Head of Violin and Course Director of the Ensemble Course at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. As a dedicated educator, he prioritizes adapting his teaching methods to meet the individual needs of his students.
Bartosz Cajler graduated from the Frederic Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw after studying under the esteemed Professor Magdalena Szczepanowska. His quest for musical excellence then took him to the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where he earned a soloist diploma under the mentorship of Professor Henryk Kowalski.
Further honing his craft, Bartosz participated in the Summer Sessions at the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana, USA, on four occasions. Apart of that, he had the privilege of learning from and playing for legendary musicians and educators such as Joshua Bell, Zakhar Bron, Igor Ozim, and Menahem Pressler.
As a soloist, Bartosz has performed with numerous orchestras across Poland, Sweden, Italy, and Russia. His recording of Aleksander Tansman’s Violin Concerto for the Polish label DUX received glowing reviews worldwide, cementing his reputation as a formidable talent. His exceptional skill and artistry have been recognized with prizes in international competitions in Poland, Italy, and Sweden. Additionally, he has been a recipient of scholarships from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music and the Polish Ministry of Culture.
From 2007 to 2018, Bartosz was the primarius of the Dahlkvist Quartet. The ensemble’s notable achievements include winning the Young & Promising competition in Västerås, Sweden, which led to a concert tour across the country. The Quartet was selected for the Rising Stars program by Stockholms Konserthus (Stockholm Philharmonic Hall), resulting in performances at some of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls, including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Köln Philharmonie, and Konzerthaus in Vienna. The Dahlkvist Quartet’s CD featuring music by Andrea Tarrodi won the Grammis, Sweden’s most important recording award, for Classical Recording of the Year in 2018.
As a freelancer, he frequently serves as a leader or section leader for several orchestras in Sweden.
Bartosz Cajler performs on a 1768 violin made by Joseph and Antonio Gagliano, generously on loan from the Järnåker Foundation in Stockholm.
